​Irish is a core subject in St.Louis Secondary School that focuses on developing all four language skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing within meaningful contexts.
It is a vibrant language in our school that is enriched through debate, creative writing and engagement with Irish stories, film and music.

We have proudly earned the 'Gaelbhratach', a national flag awarded in recognition of our efforts to encourage the use of Irish outside of the classroom in a fun and creative way. Our Coiste na Gaeilge | Irish Committee play a key role in promoting the language through events such as Tae & Plé and themed activities during Seachtain na Gaeilge.
